Tendem Empreinte®, an Egis solution for managing the sustainable development performance of projects

The Tendem Empreinte® method is an approach developed by Egis for managing the sustainable development performance of infrastructure & development projects.

An approach adapted to the size of the project and to clients priorities:

At each major stage of a project, Tendem Empreinte® makes it possible to view the benefits and the impacts across disciplines of choices in scheduling, design, implementation and operations.

This approach enables collaborative agreement on a set of project-specific targets, which are adapted to the major challenges in the sector and cover every aspect of sustainable development. The method also offers a how-to guide, covering the involvement of the public and interested parties, the links between different disciplines, and evaluation sharing.

Actions, costs and benefits

During the first phase, an initial assessment determines the project's sustainable development footprint. This footprint, which takes the form of a graphic, constitutes a starting point for dialogue. The footprint is then developed throughout the design process as the final targets are officially determined.

For each option chosen, it is possible to estimate the costs and benefits according to the situation in question, i.e.: any natural resources protected, energy saved, natural environments restored, rainwater reused, maintenance and servicing costs reduced, jobs created, residential areas revitalised, etc.

The approach relies on Egis's expertise, which covers a wide range of technical fields (acoustics, biodiversity, waste, energy, hydraulic engineering, mobility, landscapes, socio-economics, etc.).
