Signature ceremony between Egis and R20 for the development of projects in Africa

Bonn 14th of November

During the World Climate Summit, held in Kameha Grand Hotel in light of COP23, Egis and R20*, under their common initiative, the Waste Project Facilitator (WPF), have signed Letters of Intent with project developers in Mali and Ivory Coast. Within this agreement, the WPF will facilitate feasibility studies for 3 municipal waste infrastructure projects and accompany the latter all the way to financial close.

Launched in June 2017 by Egis and R20, the WPF is an innovative financial mechanism, which aims to open up the pipeline of investment-ready waste projects by financing and providing expertise for feasibility studies required by investors.

* R20 - Regions of Climate Action is an NGO whose mission is to help sub-national governments around the world to develop low-carbon and climate resilient infrastructure projects.
