Project overview

The Ministry of Works Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning (MOWMAUP) has an on-going policy to construct and improve the roads and highways network for the kingdom of Bahrain to support the development of industry and the generation of employment opportunities in the kingdom of Bahrain.

The Mondelez Biscuit Factory is the ‘anchor industry’ and is already in operation as part of the Phase 1 development.

The main goal of the project is to construct the Stage Works for Road and Sanitary Infrastructure while ensuring that:

  • the stage 1 works are incorporated to eliminate or reduce to an absolute minimum abortive works,
  • ensuring that the Road and Sanitary have sufficient capacity to cater for the demand at 2030 for the BIIP and BLP areas,
  • cater for the future stage of the BLP such that this development does not result in abortive works being currently carried out.
