Out of the seventeen entries judged by the Landscaping Awards panel, the Rouen left bank redevelopment project was designated the winner. This award, one of the most prestigious urban planning prizes in France, is presented by the Ministry for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition and “pays recognition to the best innovative landscaping initiative on the scale of a community.” The judges acknowledged the quality of the landscaped areas but also the care taken to preserve natural reserves and the finesse of the developments executed.
In parallel, the same redevelopment project was awarded a prize by the 2018 Défis Urbains jury in the category “Interfaces / Association with Water”. Awarded every year, these prizes recognise privately or publicly supported initiatives working in favour of a sustainable, inclusive, accessible, shared, innovative, connected, balanced, comfortable and cost-efficient city.
