Egis is providing consultancy services to Skyguide, the Swiss air navigation service provider (ANSP), for a 9-month project around the implementation of remote flight data processing services based on the Coflight system.
Coflight is a new generation flight data processing system designed for air navigation service providers (ANSPs). The programme “Coflight as a Service” was launched in March 2014 during the World ATM Congress (WAC) by the CEOs of the French ANSP DSNA, the Italian ENAV, the Maltese MATS and the Swiss Skyguide. The four ANSPs decided to partner in order to study the feasibility of providing remote flight data processing and related services based on the Coflight product.
“Coflight as a Service” is expected to increase efficiency of operations for ANSPs and will bring significant benefits in terms of data reliability and accuracy, performance and cost-effectiveness as well, in compliance with European standards.
Skyguide projected to become the first user of this standardised service, hence paving the way towards the implementation of virtual control centres.
Over 9 months, Egis is providing consultancy and technical assistance services to Skyguide in order to assess and validate the technical feasibility of delivering operations through the use of the Coflight service.
In this project, Egis is bringing particular expertise in defining interfaces requirements between several components of an air traffic management system, and in integrating, testing and validating systems. Egis is also familiar with the Coflight system, from a technical and functional perspective.
