In 2021, Egis acquired Australian strategy advisory, project delivery and technical services consultancy Indec, a key partner to governments on many large scale infrastructure projects in Australia, particularly in the rail and bus sectors. This strategic partnership will accelerate our ambition to become a key player in Australian infrastructure market, further strengthening our presence in transportation and mobility, built environment, defence and water markets.
Egis excels in providing seamless integrated operation, maintenance and incident response solutions. We are contracted in Brisbane for maintenance and incident response for Legacy Way, Airport Link and Clem 7 Tunnels, together with the Go Between Bridge and Inner City By pass. WestConnex motorway our contract covers incident response and maintenance on M4, M8, M5E, M4-M5 Link and Roselle interchange.
We have also committed ourselves in addressing the very ambitious rail programs of Australia and New Zealand with the expansion of our rail transport engineering activities to Oceania. Egis has secured several assignments on flagship projects in the region, notably the City Rail Link in Auckland, New Zealand, the Parramatta light rail project in New South Wales and the Melbourne Metro Tunnel in Victoria. Egis is now operating two permanent offices in Sydney and Auckland to better service our clients with their projects.
Our involvement in marine engineering projects in Australia included the ownership, operations and management of 7 ports in South Australia (including Port of Adelaide) handling over 14 MT per annum including 4 MT of grain and 120,000 TEUs.
