Temple Mills is the site of a £402m state-of-the-art maintenance depot, which is in operation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All servicing, heavy maintenance and repair work of UK Eurostar trains are undertaken at Temple Mills depot. The depot houses eight 400m long tracks, workshops, offices, an administration building, and a huge stores and materials shed.
Eurostar International Ltd (EIL) commissioned Egis to lead the procurement of a complex package of works to be undertaken at the depot, including track replacement, upgrade of overhead line equipment and signalling, installation of high-power jacks and new signalling, Mechanical & Electrical and telecom facilities, removal of existing buildings and installation of a new store facility.
Egis developed the procurement and contract strategy and delivered the full suite of procurement services. This included the drafting of the works strategy to leading the competitive tender process (tender document preparation, Pre-Qualification Questionnaires, Invitations to Tender, tender analysis and evaluation, and award recommendation), and the negotiation of the contract with the supplier selected to deliver the required complex package of depot modifications.
