More like a regional express than a BRT in terms of frequency and distance, this 231 km line runs from the centre of Nouméa to serve the towns within the city's agglomeration at rapid transit speeds, passing through both highly urbanised and deserted areas.
With parking lots around the periphery of the city, the BRT system provides a real alternative to the currently prevailing "all car" solution. In addition to the mobility aspect, this new transport system meet a social need by facilitating access to employment, education, health care and cultural amenities for all of the island's inhabitants.
Egis is the mandated client's representative for the contract, which covers engineering (operation and commissioning), project management and public lighting. Ettec is handling roads and utilities.
