Project overview

The Department of Transportation of The Philippines (DOTr) has embarked upon the development of Bus Rapid Transit systems, beginning with a 21 km long line in Cebu City, the main city  of Visayas province in central Philippines (around 1 million inhabitants), but also planning projects in Manila.

Cebu BRT planning objective is to provide attractive, efficient public transport in terms of frequency, speed, reliability and safety. The BRT route will operate mainly on dedicated lanes.

Our missions

Egis as technical support consultant will be in charge of supporting DOTr on project management, on public service planning and operations, on institutional development and business planning of the future service, on environmental and social safeguards and on communication during the project implementation.

Egis will also support the design and supervision consultant in finalizing the detailed design, particularly on public realm enhancement and on accessibility to the BRT stations. The scope includes a route rationalization of current transport services provided by jeepneys and buses, together with traffic management enhancement of the city network.
