On October 14, Owendo’s new multipurpose terminal (New Owendo International Port) was inaugurated.
The State authority and Olam (Singapore) have joined forces to develop and operate the terminal, which has a capacity of 150,000 containers per year. This number exceeds the present yearly annual traffic of Gabon (approximately 130,000 containers). The terminal’s installations have been built in 18 months on a very congested site of 18 hectares.
