On 26 September 2019, the FEREC corporate foundation announced the six winners of its call for projects under the title of "Resilience and acceptation: what tools for infrastructure?"
The project Analysis Methodology for the Resilience of Infrastructure to Climate Change (MARI-CC) led by Louis Janodet (Egis), Jean-Luc Dabert (APRR) and Dominique Allagnat (Egis) was distinguished. The award winner announcement ceremony took place in the presence of the French Ministry for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition.
Road and rail civil engineering structures are increasingly exposed to the effects of climate change. These events must be taken into consideration when drawing up the maintenance strategy for these structures.
The MARI-CC project puts forward a simple methodology to analyse the geotechnical vulnerability of structures and formulates practical, costed asset management actions. Based on Egis’ return on experience (Risk Management for Roads in a Changing Climate (RiMARoCC) or ROADAPT) and that of asset managers, the solution will enable the research already conducted at an international level to be adapted to a local French context.
This R&D project will last for a year and will receive funding from FEREC and benefit from the support of a sponsor in conducting the project.
