Egis introduce a new mobility solution in the domestic market to make public parking smarter.
In cooperation with Egis Parking, our team in Brazil launches Scancar, a car equipped with a camera system that allows the scanning of license plates of vehicles located in the controlled parking areas of the city. In this way, it is possible to automatically check the payment situation of each vehicle and detect for irregularities.
The first tests of Scancar were started to verify the behavior of the equipment in the Brazilian context. The expectation for Egis' clients is that the implementation of this technology guarantees a more effective inspection and, thus, conditions the drivers to respect the time of use of the rotating streets. With greater turnover in the public parking, it is expected to reduce the search time of parking spots, also reducing the emission of carbon in the atmosphere.
Currently the car is operated by Egis Parking in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The test phase closes in August 2019 and the solution will then be launched nationwide in Brazil in September 2019, at the event Connected Smart Cities.
