The Egis team working currently on the Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer (ORAT) project of Terminal 2 at Tocumen Airport took part in the Panama Aviation Day on 10 September.
The conference was organized by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) alongside other international and regional airport and airline organisations.
The event mainly focused on the objectives and priorities for air transport in Panama over the next 5 years, on regulation, competitiveness and connectivity of the Panama hub.
In the frame of the ORAT project, the successive opening and commissioning of 4 new gates is planned by year-end (5 gates have already been operational since April 2019). The full opening of T2, which is planned in the course of 2020, is a key component of Panama's strategy to grow its travel industry and strengthen its role as regional hub, also known as "Hub de las Americas".
