Egis and its partner DB won a supervision contract on the Riga station development project in Latvia, this project calls on Egis' multi-skills and is part of the Rail Baltica project.
The project provides for the construction of the building: a bridge station, which will span the existing track bundle (Russian gauge tracks 1520 mm) and the future UIC gauge tracks (1435 mm) of the Rail Baltica project. The project therefore also includes the resumption of the line of tracks and the construction of the infrastructure supporting it: a boom and a new railway bridge, with a total length of 1,056 meters crossing the Daugava River.
Egis is the leader of the group in charge of this project. On this contract, the teams will work in co-contracting with DB Engineering & Consulting GMBH and local subcontractors. The Besix (Belgian Construction Company) and RERE (Latvian company) group of companies hold the design & build contract (FIDIC Yellow Book). The Egis contract includes the supervision of the detailed design, over 15 months then the supervision of the works for 45 months.
This is another success for Egis on the Rail Baltica project. Indeed, in Latvia, Egis also holds a design lot for the high-speed line, on the Vangaži - Salaspils - Misa section, with a length of 67 km which will include 45 engineering structures: 33 viaducts and 11 bridges.
The line will be mixed; it will allow the circulation of passenger trains at a speed of 249 km / h and the circulation of freight trains at 160 km / h. This section will connect the Rail Baltica intermodal logistics center to Salapils, and the maintenance infrastructure to Vangaži. One of the bridges built will be 1.3 km long and will span the Daugava River.
The Rail Baltica project means also:
A new project that confirms Egis' commitment to the colossal Rail Baltica project.
