Egis provided EPCM services for the civil engineering and equipping of the railway on the eastern branch of the Rhine-Rhône high speed line (section B), linking France's Haute-Saône and Doubs departments.
For Section B of this rail link, which crosses the Haute-Saône and Doubs departments and which was commissioned in December 2011, Egis guaranteed satisfactory completion, on budget and on time, of 57 km of new track. The civil engineering required excavation of 12 million m3 of material, 9 million m3 of fill material, 6 viaducts and 76 other structures as well as laying the track and equipping it with its catenaries, power supply, and signalling and telecommunications systems. A 35 hectare base camp for the works was established at Villersexel.
In a consortium with Setec, Egis provided general EPCM services for the civil engineering and installation of railway equipment through to acceptance and commissioning. More specifically, Egis provided preliminary and project design, drafting of call for tender documents, evaluation of tenders and finalising of contracts, checking of detailed design drawings and documents, and control and monitoring of works and acceptance operations.
