Egis undertakes the construction supervision of the main sewer in the sanitation system in the city of Doha, Qatar.
For a number of years, the capital of Qatar has seen sustained population growth, which requires it to resize its sanitation system. The Qatar Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has decided to develop a modern gravimetric sanitation network composed of large underground collection networks.
As part of Phase 2 of the IDRIS programme (Inner Doha Resewerage Implementation Strategy), the new main sewer of the city will allow to maintain a high level service transporting sewage from the city to a new centralized treatment plant.
Tasked for a period of 5 years, Egis will be responsible for supervision of the construction works of the new sewer main in the city.
This is the third contract within a few weeks awarded to Egis in Qatar in the field of water, after the extension of the Doha West wastewater treatment and recycling plant and the rehabilitation of the Al Karaana lagoon (west of Doha).
