At the start of 2025, Frederico Justus was appointed as Chief Executive Officer Egis for Middle East & South Asia. With over 25 years of international experience working in infrastructure, digital technology and sustainable operations, Justus offers both commercial insights combined with a human-centered leadership approach. His appointment underscores the strategic importance of the region, which already accounts for 24% of Egis’s worldwide turnover.
Following shortly thereafter, Egis appointed Mohamed Ben Messaoud as Country Managing Director for Egis in Saudi Arabia. With a distinguished career spanning over 18 years in transport, project management, finance and operations, Ben Messaoud’s leadership is driving Egis’ ambitious agenda in one of its most pivotal markets.
Egis’ vision is supported by a $1.17 billion equity injection from shareholder Tikehau Capital alongside investors in an Apollo S3/ADIA consortium and Neuberger Berman. This capital infusion ensures the pace of Egis’ growth and strengthens the company’s commitment to climate-smart development, digitalization and next-gen infrastructure.
The company’s technical and creative expertise continues to be expressed through some of the Middle East’s most transformative projects. In Riyadh, Egis has been appointed as Site Supervision Consultant for the reactivation of the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) Transit System, a 3-kilometre elevated monorail network designed to enhance internal mobility and integrate with the Riyadh Metro. The project is a key element in the kingdom’s Vision 2030 economic development program, which aims to promote smart and sustainable urban mobility for one of the kingdom’s most vibrant commercial centres.
Egis’ involvement in the Riyadh Integrated – Phase 1 Infrastructure project again confirms the company’s logistics and urban development expertise. As Package Administration and Supervision Consultant, the firm manages vital works like roads and utilities as well as landscaping and service buildings in a logistics zone that is expected to enhance Saudi Arabia’s role as a global hub of trade.
Further north, Egis completed a full life-cycle assessment of the King Fahd Causeway, an essential connection between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Utilising drone photogrammetry, non-destructive testing and digital twin technology, the team generated a refurbishment strategy that elongates the life of the bridge, while mitigating disruption to traffic, an artful combination of technical precision and public benefit.
Adding to its growing portfolio of contributions to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, Omrania, a member of 10N, a collective created by Egis Group, was awarded a $113.6 million design contract by Diriyah Company for the flagship Boulevard District. As multidisciplinary design consultant, Omrania will deliver concept through detailed design and construction supervision for a series of vibrant community areas that will anchor Diriyah’s evolution into a world-class destination.
