Earlier this year, Egis operated Ostend-Bruges International Airport closed its doors to traffic to undertake major renovations of its 3.2 km long runway 08/26, as well as its taxiways, lighting, sewage and drainage systems. Work was underway for eight weeks solid, implementing the renovations and upgrades needed to improve the facilities for modern aircraft and enable more sustainable practices.
The project was financed by the Flemish Airport Development Company (LOM) and carried out by Willemen Infra. Together, we captured some of the highlights on film, providing fascinating insights into some of the improvements put in place before the airport reopened its doors to traffic at the end of March!

The airport is also making good progress with the installation of a solar farm that will supply all its needs, producing more than 35GW per year. Our congratulations to the whole airport team!
