Bruno De Saegher, in post since September, succeeds Eric Dumas, who has led the two Flemish airports since the end of 2020. The two operating companies, LEM Flanders and LEM Ostend-Bruges, subsidiaries of the Egis Group, had announced his appointment during the summer.
De Saegher brings years of experience, including his role as chairman of the Airport Development Company Flanders (LOM Flanders) since 2015. In this position, he has gained extensive knowledge about both airports.
His appointment comes at a strategic time, right after the granting of a new environmental permit for Antwerp Airport and at an advanced application stage for Ostend-Bruges Airport. Bruno de Saegher has an immediate plan to implement the new environmental permit and build on the further development of both airports.
A native Dutch speaker, Bruno de Saegher also has a good understanding of the socio-economic situation and societal sensitivities surrounding the airports.
In recent years, he has also been active as a district councilor in Berchem, a district of Antwerp.
