Challenge
The California High-Speed Rail programme is delivering the first high-speed rail network in the United States. Designed to connect California's major economic centres at speeds of up to 220 mph, the project combines major engineering challenges, ambitious sustainability objectives and the coordination of multiple stakeholders across one of the largest rail programmes ever undertaken in North America.
Solution
Since 2022, Egis has been supporting the California High-Speed Rail Authority through programme delivery and rail systems engineering services. Leveraging its international high-speed rail experience and local expertise, Egis contributes across the project lifecycle, from engineering and systems integration to programme management, procurement strategy, environmental support and operational readiness.
Impact
As construction progresses across California, the programme is laying the foundations for a new era of low-carbon mobility. Through its involvement, Egis helps strengthen the integration, coordination and technical excellence required to deliver a rail system of unprecedented scale in the United States. The project also reinforces a key conviction shared across Egis' major rail programmes worldwide: successful delivery depends on combining engineering expertise with strong systems integration and collaborative programme management.
