Egis, in association with Search Corporation, signs the Supervisory Services contract "Design and Execution of Craiova – Pitești Express Road, Section 4", with the contracting authority represented by the National Company for Road Infrastructure Management – CNAIR S.A..
At the beginning of April 2022, Egis, a consulting, engineering and operation company in road, rail, water and energy infrastructure projects, in partnership with the infrastructure planning, design, consulting and management firm, Search Corporation, signs with the National Company for Road Infrastructure Management a 3.8 million euros contract for the supervision of the design and execution activities of the works for Section 4 of the Craiova – Pitesti Express Road, the services including also the warranty period of the works.
The construction of the entire Craiova – Pitești Express Road will lead to the provision of a fast road transport connection for long-distance traffic and the local and regional traffic related to the crossed area (Dolj, Olt and Arges counties), by reducing travel times, as well as to increasing traffic safety conditions and eliminating traffic jams in the Slatina, Balș and Craiova area.
The contract shall cover the provision of high-quality supervisory services aimed at monitoring the correct use of the funds available and the compliance of the manufacturer with the contractual obligations, in particular as regards the implementation of the project in optimal conditions in terms of duration, cost and quality of performance.
The Craiova – Pitești Express Road, Section 4, will be designed and built between km 89+300 – km 121+115, within the territorial administrative area of Arges County, and will cross the administrative territories of: Lunca Corbului, Albota, Costeşti, Bratu, Șușei and Oarja. The Express Road will have two lanes in one direction, with a platform width of 22 m, a length of 31.82 km and a design speed of 120 km/h. The road will be connected at its beginning with DN65A and at its end with A1 Bucharest-Pitești.
The total duration of the contract is 160 months, the supervision of the design activities being for a period of one year, and that of the execution activities for a period of two years. The warranty period of the works is 10 years and 4 months.
