Egis has appointed Allan Athaide as Director of Water, Environment and Energy Transition in Australia, strengthening the company’s commitment to helping clients navigate the increasing challenges of water security, environmental management, and the energy transition.
The newly established national service line brings together Egis’ local expertise across water, environment and energy, creating a stronger, more integrated offering for the Australian market. This expansion follows the recent acquisitions of Peracon and Engeny, whose teams have fully integrated into Egis’ operations over the past 12 months and now form a key part of the company’s Australian service offering.
In his new role, Allan will lead the national service line, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across Australia and Egis’ global network to grow capabilities and deliver integrated solutions for government, utilities and industry clients - supporting the delivery of sustainable infrastructure across the full asset lifecycle.
Allan brings more than 30 years of engineering and infrastructure experience, including a career spanning utilities, industrial manufacturing, water and wastewater treatment, renewables and major process industries.
Prior to this appointment, Allan served as Chief Operating Officer at Peracon, where he played a key leadership role in growing the business and delivering projects across power, utilities and infrastructure sectors.
Rowenna Walker, Managing Director – Australia, said Allan’s appointment reflects Egis’ strategic focus on building capability in sectors critical to Australia’s future.
“As demand grows for expertise across water, environment and energy systems, we are continuing to invest in building strong multidisciplinary teams. By bringing together the expertise of Peracon and Engeny within Egis, we are strengthening our capability to deliver integrated solutions for our clients. Allan brings technical knowledge and strong leadership, playing an important role in growing this capability for our clients.”
Commenting on his appointment, Allan said:
“I’m proud to be leading a team that can bring together the expertise needed to deliver integrated solutions for our clients. Egis has built strong capability through the integration of Peracon and Engeny, and I look forward to working with our teams and clients to support sustainable infrastructure outcomes for communities across Australia.”
The Water, Environment and Energy Transition business will support Egis’ continued growth in Australia and strengthen its ability to deliver integrated solutions for clients across these sectors.
