Egis announces the appointment of Vipul Surana as Chief Executive Officer for Egis in India, effective immediately. Egis has operated in India for more than 30 years, delivering major projects across urban development, water, roads, and airports and holding a strong market presence across rail, roads and buildings. This latest appointment supports the Group's plan to position Egis among the world's top 10 construction engineering firms, with India a key growth market as public, as well as private, infrastructure investment continues to expand.
Surana brings more than three decades of experience in infrastructure delivery, having held senior roles across India, the UK, Europe, South Korea, Malaysia and the Middle East, spanning urban infrastructure, bridges, highways, metros and ports. A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (FICE, UK), Surana holds an MTech in Structures from IIT Delhi and is a member of the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering.
As CEO, Surana will lead Egis's business across India, with responsibility for growth, client relationships and delivery performance across the Group's full portfolio in the country. His remit includes deepening Egis's project management, engineering and advisory capability and developing the next generation of technical leadership within the Indian business.
Surana takes on a business with an established record beyond its project portfolio. Egis has been certified as a Top Employer in India by the Top Employers Institute for five consecutive years, and its community programmes in the country, including multi-year education partnerships with the Shakti Foundation and support for the NeeV learning centre, which together support hundreds of underserved children in the Delhi NCR each year, will continue under his leadership as part of the Group's wider sustainability commitments.
