Egis is continuing its flagship environmental stewardship initiative, "Aranaya", now in its third year. With a focus on sustainable developing Gurgaon Greens, Egis has already facilitated the planting of over 7000 trees, transforming the area into a vibrant green space.
Launched in 2022, under the guidance of Egis’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee, and in collaboration with Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Hara Jeevan, the “Aranaya” initiative was created as part of Egis’ “Clean and Green" and has made significant strides toward promoting environmental conservation.
The “Aranaya” initiative unfolded in three phases:
- Phase one focussed on a comprehensive cleanliness drive near NH-8, with volunteers from Egis and Hara Jeevan working to remove plastic waste, clear weeds, and gather dried leaves for composting.
- Phase two saw over 100 volunteers, including senior management from Egis, planting a variety of ayurvedic and medicinal plants in a designated green belt zone. To further enrich the ecosystem, this phase also included eco-friendly enhancements such as eco fencing, artificial bird nests, and water provisions for birds.
- Now in phase three, Egis is launching ‘Aranaya 2.0’ with the addition of 1000 new saplings.
Over 7000 saplings and shrubs were planted in the last two years alone. The variety of saplings and shrubs planted includes:
- Trees : Bargad, Peepal, Neem, Millettia, Jarul, Goolar, Champa
- Shrubs : Raat ke Rani, Chandini, Hibiscus, Vajradanti, Chitrak, Phycus, Snake Plant, Jarul, Hamelia
Looking ahead, Egis is committed to sustaining these green initiatives. The "One Employee, One Plant" campaign further encourages every member of Egis to actively contribute to the greening efforts.
