Lima, Peru.— The start of contingency works, demolitions, and preliminary activities for the new Manuel Núñez Butrón Regional Hospital marks a significant step forward in strengthening the healthcare system in the southern region of the country. This project will benefit more than 1.3 million people in the Puno region, expanding access to specialized medical services.
The initiative is led by the Peruvian Ministry of Health (MINSA), through the National Health Investment Program (PRONIS) as the executing agency, within the framework of the Government-to-Government Agreement between Peru and France.
In this context, the PMO Hospitales consortium, composed of Egis and AP-HP International, provides specialized technical assistance to PRONIS for the comprehensive management of the project, under international standards. The recent signing of contracts for the execution of these initial interventions marks the formal start of the construction phase.
The new hospital will include 296 beds, seven operating rooms, and 43 consultation rooms, significantly strengthening healthcare capacity in the region.
This milestone reaffirms Egis’ commitment to developing high-quality hospital infrastructure in Peru, leveraging international expertise to ensure efficiency, timely delivery, and sustainability in high-impact social projects.
