Egis in Mexico will provide technical assistance for the rehabilitation of Line Z of the Interoceanic Train
Egis in Mexico announced it has been awarded the project “Technical Assistance for Project Coordination and Integration of Major Maintenance and Rehabilitation Works on the Line Z Railway of the Interoceanic Train,” which it will carry out together with its partner, Consorcio de Ingenieros.
Line Z is a key socioeconomic asset in the region, connecting Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, with Salina Cruz, Oaxaca, over roughly 308 kilometers, making it possible to move freight by rail in a short transit time of under 7 hours.
Moreover, it serves as the backbone of the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, which links the Atlantic with the Pacific and is designed to attract factories and assembly plants to a region rich in natural resources and energy.
Rehabilitating railways with worldwide experience
Egis Global has more than 50 years of experience in the rail sector, having taken part in the management, supervision, and rehabilitation of more than 120,000 kilometers of railway worldwide. It will now bring that experience to the Interoceanic Train, providing technical coordination and integration so that the major maintenance and rehabilitation works are carried out with rigor, quality, and safety.
The award of this project to Egis in Mexico reflects its capability, its experience, and above all its leadership in the rail sector.
