The team of Egis in Ukraine invites undergraduate and postgraduate students to take part in a competition of scientific and creative works held as part of the project to develop the intellectual potential of talented young people. The aim of the initiative is to identify and support talented young professionals, as well as provide employment opportunities at Egis. Participation in the competition will be a good start for further professional growth in the field of mobility, transport and logistics.

Participants of the competition:
The competition is open to full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students of Ukrainian higher education institutions under the age of 25.
Competition task:
The entry is an essay (article) in one of the specified thematic areas in accordance with the specified structure, requirements for content, presentation and design. The essay (article) should address current problems, challenges and previously unsolved tasks within the chosen area, reveal modern approaches to solving the identified problems and show the possibility of practical application of the proposed solutions in Ukraine.
Thematic areas for the competition work:
- Urban, suburban and intercity mobility
- Electromobility, inclusiveness, barrier-free access, gender equality, etc. in transport and mobility planning
- Road safety
- Intelligent transport systems, smart transport
- Logistics and freight transport (urban, domestic and international) by bicycle, road and rail
- Planning of urban streets and squares in terms of traffic management and public spaces, as well as spatial development of settlements
- Designing of highways (in terms of approaches to the survey of the highway route, design of the main elements of the cross-sectional profile, etc.)
- Legal and regulatory framework in the field of mobility, transport and related infrastructure.
Requirements for the entry:
1) The entry may have one or two authors; however, only persons admitted to the competition as a whole may be authors within the team.
2) During the preparation of the entry, a consultant may be involved, who may be mentioned among the team of authors, but does not claim any remuneration in case of winning.
3) One person may submit only one entry (personally or in co-authorship).
4) The entry must be unique and not previously published (all entries are checked for plagiarism); deviations from this requirement are allowed only in the case of a reference to the author's own previously published work
5) The principles of academic integrity must be observed during the preparation of the entry and, among other things :
- in the text of the paper, it is necessary to correctly cite information from other sources, mention the authors of relevant works and provide references to relevant Ukrainian and foreign studies
- the use of artificial intelligence and generative language models is allowed, for example, to process large amounts of information, but it is prohibited to use them to write the entire text of the entry (all entries will be checked using text detectors created by artificial intelligence)
6) The entry should contain the following content parts (blocks):
- relevance of the topic of the work (research)
- identification and formulation of the problem as a whole (within the chosen thematic area)
- a description of the hypothesis and/or solution in general, how the problem is solved, etc.
- a specific example that demonstrates the identified problem in practice and the application of the proposed solutions to solve the problem or minimise its consequences in specific practical conditions
- main conclusions, suggestions and recommendations.
Requirements for the entry preparation:
1) The language of the entry is Ukrainian.
2) The volume of the main text is from 15,000 to 20,000 characters of the main text (without spaces).
3) Tables, figures, graphs and appendices are allowed, but are not included in the main text; if necessary, large diagrams, figures and drawings may be submitted in separate files (no more than 5 additional files).
Submission of entries to the competition:
1) The entry with all the attachments (one or more files) in *.pdf format not exceeding 10 Mb should be sent to students.competition@egis-ukraine.com no later than 23:59 on 10 May 2025.
2) The subject line of the email should contain the word “Competition”, the name of the thematic area of work, the name and surname of the author (one of the authors if the work is submitted in a team) and the abbreviated name of the educational institution (e.g. “Competition of works - [name of the thematic area] - Ivan IVANENKO - NTU”).
3) In addition to the entry, the letter must contain a separate file with the following information:
- name and surname of the author(s) of the work
- information about each author: name of the educational institution, name of the faculty/institute, group, educational programme (speciality), etc
- contact details of the authors (phone number, e-mail)
- name of the consultant, his/her place of work and position (if any).
Sending the entry together with the information about the author(s) and consultant (if any) to the specified e-mail means that the author(s) agrees to the terms of the Competition and gives consent to the processing of personal data.
Determination of the winners and the prize fund:
The winners of the competition are determined among all submitted works that meet the criteria for the entry (works that do not meet the specified criteria are not allowed to participate in the competition).
Up to 10% of the submitted works may be recognised as winners, but no more than 5 works in total. The decision to determine the winners is made by the Competition jury.
The winners of the competition will receive:
- a prize of UAH 10,000 (per winning entry)
- a winner's certificate
- informing the higher education institution of the competition participants about the victory.
The winners of the competition must present their work at the final event to be held at the Egis office in Kyiv.
The winners' works (in the author's version) will be published on the Egis website.
Competition jury:
- Ihor Mohyla: PhD in Engineering, expert in transport planning, mobility and traffic safety (over 10 years of experience in the industry).
- Inna Shum: Ph.D., Head of the Consulting Department of Aegis Ukraine LLC, active member of the Transport Academy of Ukraine (TAU), co-founder of the TAU Central Scientific Center, expert in transport and logistics (18 years of experience in the industry).
- Maria Markina: Certified architect, spatial planner, expert in the field of urban planning documentation examination (over 10 years of experience in the field).
- Oksana Zatvornytska: Head of Project Finance and Corporate Development at Egis in Ukraine, with over 18 years of experience in political and economic research, as well as managing programs and projects funded by international financial organizations in Ukraine and abroad.
