Egis is rapidly increasing the portfolio of projects in the Czech Republic with a main focus of work on projects High-Speed Line Network – an HSL in the Three Seas region, that will be suitable for both passenger and freight transport, will be approximately 4,500 kilometers by 2050 (EU initiative).
In July Egis was awarded a new project in HSL CZ RS2 Sakvice – Rakvice. EGIS, Valbek, Mott McDonald. It is already 5th winning project during the last 2 years in Czech republic! Today in total Egis runs 5 projects in the country with several consortiums and all of them are connected to HSR. Some more projects are in the signature stage. Egis is mostly working on sub- and superstructure, alignment, signaling, and expertise as EMC, RAMS, Aerodynamic studies, and traction simulation.
HSR projects overview
HSL 1 Bechovice-Poricany near Prague and in the central Bohemian region. In this project, Egis‘ experts are responsible for HSR expertize. Egis‘s part is almost finished. The launch of construction of the high-speed section from Praha-Běchovice to Poříčany which should constitute the first stage of HSL Praha – Brno is expected in 2026.
HSL 2 Modrice-Sakvice in the south Moravian region. Egis is involved in HSR development for the South Moravia territorial development which specifies the route in the section Modrice-Sakvice. Egis experts are responsible for HSR expertize, sub- and superstructure of track design and signalling in this part of high-speed line preparation and this part is almost over. The lines are being prepared for speeds up to 320 km/h.
HSL 1 Poricany-Svetla – line from Prague to Brno. The lines are being prepared for speeds up to 320 kph. The objective is to have the whole HSL from Prague to Brno under construction and in some sections already under operation in 2030 and to connect not only Praha – Brno – Ostrava continuing further abroad (Bratislava, Vienna, Berlin, Warsaw, etc.) but also fast domestic trains e.g.
HSL 4 Balabenka – Lovosice – 1 phase of line from Prague to Dresden. The contract includes a comprehensive consultation of the documentation with the authorities and the provision of all processes for obtaining the final zoning decision.
The high-speed railway line development is a monumental and crucially important EU project that will not only change the transport map of Europe but also will become a solution that will allow to create of seamless transport systems across borders, without physical gaps, bottlenecks, or missing links, and to straighten the European economy.
