Egis has been appointed by the National Company for Administration of Road Infrastructure – CNAIR S.A. to supervise the "Design and Build Contract for Brașov – Târgu Mureș – Cluj – Oradea Motorway, Subsection 3A2: Nădășelu - Mihăilești (km 8+700 - km 25+500) and Subsection 3B1: Mihăilești- Zimbor (km 0+000- km 13+260)".
During the second half of November, Egis signed a 5.8 million-euro contract with the National Company for Administration of Road Infrastructure to provide additional supervision services for the design and build of 30-km sections of Brașov – Târgu Mureș – Cluj – Oradea Motorway, between Nădășelu and Zimbor.
Subsubsections 3A1 and 3B2 are designed for a speed of 120 km/h. The entire 3A2 subsection develops on the administrative territory of Cluj county, crossing the jurisdiction of Gârbău (km 8+700 - km 13+100) and Sinpaul (km 13+100 - km 25+500) localities, whereas the 3B1 subsection crosses the administrative territory of both Cluj and Sălaj counties, or the jurisdiction of Sinpaul (km 0+000 - km 0+920) and Zimbor (km 0+920- km 13+260) localities. The 2 subsections of this strategically important motorway project are particularly challenging from a technical perspective as they cross a variety of terrain types ranging from plains, valleys, hills to mountains and involve complex structural and consolidation works, such as a large number of viaducts, overpasses and bridges as well as retaining walls and soil reinforcement by bored piles.
The contract shall cover high-quality supervisory services to ensure the Contractor complies with contract obligations, including correct use of funds, and optimal duration, cost and overall quality.
The duration of the contract is 36 months to supervise the design and build of the motorway works plus the duration of the supervision during the works warranty period.
