Global engineering consultancy Egis, as part of a consortium with Pell Frischmann, has been appointed to the design and engineering services for fixed track lot on Transport for Greater Manchester’s (TfGM) Transport Professional Services Framework.
Egis will be able to provide professional advice and services related to the design and engineering of fixed track transport systems, including high speed rail, light rail, metro and busways.
The lot spans all project lifecycle stages, from investigation and planning through development, design and delivery to compliance, integration and testing. It also includes operations, maintenance, refurbishment and decommissioning, plus the asset monitoring, evaluation and feedback loop.
The four-year multidisciplinary consultancy framework, worth an estimated £120 million, is intended to establish a network of suppliers to provide TfGM with transport-related consultancy services.
The announcement coincides with Egis opening a northern base in Manchester city centre, signalling the business’s commitment to the region. Located at the Thread Works innovation cluster, the office is set to establish a footprint for the firm to deliver expertise across regional infrastructure and the built environment.
The appointment follows the consortium being awarded light and heavy rail lots on the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority’s (SYMCA) Engineers Consultancy Services Framework Agreement earlier this year.
