Egis announces winning recipient of EUR 5,000 scholarship for an undergraduate aeronautics student of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Balamand in Lebanon.
Egis continues to celebrate 50 years in aviation and has announced its third scholarship for a student in an aviation-related degree – this time in the Middle East. Winning recipient this year is Hussam El Omari, a BS Aeronautical Engineering student who will be entering his senior year starting the Fall 2021 semester.
Egis and the University of Balamand have agreed to award the scholarship on academic merit and performance. Scholarship eligibility was limited to students on low incomes and taking a degree in the Institute of Aeronautics, within the Faculty of Engineering. The EUR 5,000 scholarship will cover the 2020/2021 academic year and take care of the student’s University fees.
In 2019 Egis awarded its inaugural scholarship to Nicolas Tigranoff, engineering student at the Ecole Nationale d'Aviation Civile (ENAC), France. In 2020, the scholarship went to Thierry-Picard Assouanou Kouassi, a student of Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INP-HB) in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
