Egis has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Invest Hong Kong of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administration Region (InvestHK) at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Europe (France) Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference held in Paris on 24 May 2024.
This signifies that Egis and InvestHK will increase collaboration and explore business opportunities in Hong Kong together.
Mickael Pinto, Chief Commercial Officer of Egis Group, represented Egis to sign the MoU with InvestHK, witnessed by Mr Wang Weizhong, The Governor of Guangdong Province, Mr Paul Chan, the Financial Secretary of Hong Kong and Ms Ao Ieong U, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR.
For the past decade, Egis has been investing in Hong Kong’s engineering consultancy market through several mergers and acquisitions. In 2021, Egis established its Asia headquarters in Hong Kong and aspired to further invest in Hong Kong through potential mergers and acquisitions.
Through the MoU, InvestHK will support Egis on stepping up operations and investments in Hong Kong, by providing guidance regarding regulatory framework, funding schemes, licensing, policy support, etc. The initiative will undoubtedly open up enormous business opportunities in the dynamic Hong Kong market.
