Egis is the winner of the international competition for the Modular Evolution of the Terminal (EMT) at EuroAirport, alongside the lead agency drlw architects and our Franco-Swiss partners: Vischer Architekten AG, Gruner AG and LAP'S Paysage.
A major project to improve the passenger experience
This team will be responsible for extending and renovating part of the airport terminal. The EMT project, designed in independent modules, will enable flexible implementation adapted to the airport's changing needs.
An ambitious timetable
Work will start in 2027, with delivery of the new building estimated for 2030/31. This first module, called ‘Landside’, will include the construction of a new 14,000 m² building on the east side of the current terminal, the renovation of 15,000 m² of existing space, and the reorganisation of access to the terminal via external developments on the city side.
The works will be carried out on an occupied site, with phased operations to minimise disruption.
Tangible improvements for passengers
The new building will house a larger concourse, as well as all the screening checkpoints, optimising passenger flows and generating savings on security operating costs.
An exemplary environmental approach
The project is aiming for the BREEAM® Excellent label, demonstrating our commitment to sustainable development.
A strong partnership and recognised expertise
Our assignments include engineering for all technical trades, façades, acoustics, scheduling and coordination, BIM management, fire safety systems coordination and BREEAM.
