The processing of the 'Lower East Chao Phraya River Water System Project - Plan 1' has been successfully initiated with the first Inception Mission and Workshop held in October 2024.
Egis, represented by Tom Kendall, Asia Regional Director for Water & Energy, collaborated with partners PANYA CONSULTANTS CO., LTD., Deltares, Espelia, and CIRAD to support the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and various Thai Government agencies, including The Royal Irrigation Department and the Public Debt Management Office.
This significant initiative, with an estimated cost exceeding 1.8bn€, is part of a comprehensive 20-year Masterplan aimed at enhancing water and flood risk management throughout the Lower Chao Phraya river basin, including the capital city of Bangkok. Under Technical Assistance Contract 'TA 10240-REG', Egis will provide essential support to ADB and co-financiers such as The World Bank Group, Agence Française de Développement, and The OPEC Fund for International Development. Its role involves preparing the necessary documentation for financing this vital project.
