ISO quality and security standards awarded for HKIA 3RS project

The System Engineering Office (SEO) working on the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) Three Runway System (3RS) project is celebrating the awards of Quality Management System ISO 9001 and Information Security Management System ISO/IEC 27001.

The certifications relate to the Air Navigation System equipment implementation and deliverables, which are the responsibility of the Egis / ADP Ingenierie consortium.

A ceremony was held with the 3RS project team and Hong Kong CAD representatives, during which the SEO was delighted to announce the awards of the certificates.

Information security is of the utmost importance to us, and we handle and protect sensitive data with great care and confidentiality. ISO/IEC 27001 is the world’s best-known standard for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) and their requirements. It does so by formally specifying a system of controls, which can then be audited and certified compliant. In particular, the standard requires the examination of an organisation’s information security risks, in order to allow for the design and implementation of safeguards to prevent such risks from occurring. The Egis and ADPi consortium has adopted a comprehensive management process to make sure that these controls are maintained in a way that meets their needs on a continuous basis.

The certification process is in-depth and it took us 14 months in total. Achieving these certifications now means that we have official proof of compliance for Hong Kong CAD, and reinforces that they made the right decision in choosing our consortium to support them on this seven-year project.
