The origins of the programme
The origins of the programme
A review of health and safety indicators, which had been trending downwards over the previous two years, highlighted several contributing factors and prompted the search for a holistic solution. After assessing multiple providers, the team selected the one offering the most genuinely integrated approach. The initiative was first presented to employee representatives, then communicated more widely via email, the company’s internal social network, and printed notices across the organization.
Free sessions to encourage long-term engagement
All workshops are free of charge and take place during working hours. The programme combines group sessions with individual appointments, giving employees the option to explore personal challenges in a more confidential setting. A shared sign-up file is used for group workshops, while individual appointments are booked through a dedicated link to ensure anonymity. The overall aim is to embed lasting habits around health, mobility, and joint balance.
Strength training and specialist workshops
Employees now have access to weekly strength-training sessions, with several classes offered each week. Participation in sports activities currently stands at around 70%.
In addition, a quarterly nutrition workshop provides practical guidance on healthy eating, while mental-preparation workshops help employees manage stressful situations more effectively. Finally, to support staff working irregular hours, sleep management workshops are also being introduced. Nearly the entire workforce has enrolled in these sessions, a clear indication of how relevant and necessary this support is for improving working conditions.

Individual benefits and long-term organisational impact
Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Many employees have taken the initiative to extend the programme’s benefits into their daily routines, such as practising exercises at home. While some remain hesitant, the group workshops, especially those focused on nutrition and mental preparation, have been especially well received. Individual appointments have also proven popular, with some employees requesting personalised nutrition plans and one-on-one mental coaching sessions to define personal goals.
The programme is designed not only to support individuals but also to deliver long-term organisational benefits. Key indicators such as workplace accident rates and absenteeism are being monitored to assess its impact over time.
