Egis is firmly established in this key area of the global economy. In addition to its subsidiaries in Brazil, Egis is present in other South American countries with some excellent projects to its name.

Since the1960s Egis has been operating in South America; Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Central America and the Caribbean. The group is permanently implanted in Brazil by making several acquisitions.

In September 2011, Egis acquired the company Vega (Egis Engenharia e Consultoria since 2014), specialised in rail freight and, in June 2012, Aeroservice, specialising in airport engineering and consulting. In 2015, Egis continues its acquisitions with São Paulo based engineering firm Lenc, which is one of the leaders in the road and building market.
These acquisitions have enabled it to increase its presence in this promising country and in other countries on this dynamic continent.

Egis is involved in iconic projects such as the modernisation of the Ruta del Sol in Colombia, which connects Bogota to the Caribbean coast.

The scope of its business activity now includes airport operations such as the contract for the Viracopos-Campinas International Airport in Brazil.

In december 2017, Egis acquired OCACSA (Operación y Conservación de Autopistas Concesionadas), the leading independent highway operator in Mexico, in a move to reinforce its worldwide leadership in highway infrastructure operation and maintenance.
