The main challenge was the structural design of the building due to the magnitude of the project, named Fortaleza (Fortress, in English). Egis also designed a security system for personnel and visitors entering the building and the roof, due to the heliport proposed for the project. Regarding the facade of the building, we had to meet the customer's technical and symbology requirements.
We planned a single structure that encompassed the entire building. Our specialized security team designed a system to allow access with the special requirements demanded by the Defense Ministry. In terms of architecture, we designed a glass roof with resistance to factors produced by helicopters and a double facade design that simulates the diamond cuts.
We counted on a multidisciplinary team to assist the different areas of this project (safety, hydraulics, electrical, structures, urban planning etc.). For better organization, the project was divided into different milestones:
