We promote more sustainable purchasing in line with our objective of reducing emissions and fighting climate change. From 2020, our French business travel purchases will allow us to reduce our CO2 emissions by at least 5% per year until 2025.
Reducing emissions with our new car policy.
During renegotiations with car manufactures to renew our vehicle fleet in France, CO2 held the same level of importance as economic criteria. Our new Car Policy, created in 2020, prioritises the use of clean vehicles. Combustion-engine SUVs and petrol vehicles have been excluded from the Car Policy due to their high CO2 emissions per km travelled. It includes diesel models, but only for “high mileage” drivers.
As a result of this policy, our vehicle fleet will gradually be renewed and replaced with cleaner models, allowing us to reach a target of 63g/CO2/km on average for the fleet in 2025 – (WLTP standard). At the end of 2020, the average was 123g/km, representing a 48% reduction in emissions. Alongside the policy, we will install electric charging stations on our sites.
Greener business travel by train.
We encourage employees to travel more by train, rather than plane, where possible. In order to support them in this change, we’ve renegotiated fares with the SNCF, giving our employees preferential first-class fares on journeys that are typically taken by plane, including as Paris to Montpellier, Paris to Aix and Paris to Marseille.
