Egis approached the Dubai Balloon project with a blend of advanced technology and expert engineering. Utilizing cutting-edge 3D modeling and visualization tools, during the design phase, Egis simulated the balloon’s behavior and analyzed its structural integrity. This preemptive approach allowed the engineering team to optimize the design, ensuring that all potential issues were identified and addressed before the construction phase began.
Engineering and design.
The landing platform was designed to withstand both terrestrial and marine environments. This required the use of corrosion-resistant materials and innovative engineering solutions to manage the structural loads. The access pathways and F&B facility were integrated into the design to provide seamless connectivity and enhance visitor experience.
Environmental considerations.
Egis prioritized environmental protection throughout the project. The construction utilized sustainable materials compliant with the LEED Green Building Code of Dubai. Measures were implemented to minimize the carbon footprint, such as using low-emission construction equipment and sustainable waste management practices.
Further underscoring the project’s commitment to environmental safety, helium, an inert and non-toxic gas, was chosen. Helium is inherently stable, both chemically and atomically. There are no chemical compounds containing helium and no radioactive isotopes of helium. Helium contains no oxygen, isn’t an oxidizer, therefore is not flammable, ensuring the highest standards of safety.
