At the onset of the West Bund Orbit project, the client faced several challenges that are common in ambitious architectural endeavors, making this case study particularly relevant to others in similar situations. One significant concern was the tight timeframe for completion, necessitating efficient coordination among multiple stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and local authorities. Additionally, the complexity of the design required specialist expertise in parametric design and façade engineering to ensure the project's success. The historical context of Shanghai's rapid urban development and its aspiration to be a global architectural hub added pressure to deliver a landmark structure that would stand out in the city's skyline. Socially, the project needed to resonate with the community by providing a functional and aesthetically pleasing public space. Addressing these challenges required innovative solutions and a collaborative approach, ultimately ensuring the West Bund Orbit met both the client's expectations and the city's cultural aspirations.
