Egis will ensure the operation of three essential axes of the road network of Congo: the RN1 connecting Pointe-Noire to Brazzaville (540 km), the RN1 bis connecting Brazzaville to Mindouli (50 km), the old bypass infrastructure of the Congolese capital and the RN2 connecting Brazzaville-Ouesso (800 km).
The operation of the first two axes will start in March 2019. The Egis teams will particularly manage the 11 toll plazas of the RN1, representing 70 toll lanes whose equipment will be modernised. They will also be responsible for weighing operations and traffic management.
The activities will create more than 500 local jobs along the route.
Egis operates these roads on behalf of the concession company, La Congolaise des Routes, which has signed a contract with the Congolese government for a period of 30 years.
Egis is a recognized player in Congo through the engineering and operation of Brazzaville, Pointe-Noire and Ollombo airports.
This new project allows Egis to confirm its commitment to the Republic of Congo and strengthens its presence on the African continent in the operation and maintenance of transport infrastructure.
