Starting October 1st, 2025, Egis, in partnership with Alyse Guyane, Caisse des Dépôts, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Guyane region, and construction company Léon Grosse, will take over the management of Cayenne Félix-Éboué Airport. Cayenne Airport will be the 21st airport in the network operated by Egis.
A comprehensive investment programme aimed at improving passenger experience, upgrading infrastructure, and supporting future development will be launched immediately upon the start of operations and carried out during the early years of the concession.
A 30-year contract with a major investment programme
The 30-year concession includes a significant investment effort totalling €85 million. The project aims to enhance the passenger experience through a reorganisation of flows and functions across various areas including security checks, border control, boarding zones, and retail spaces. Renovation works will be carried out while maintaining airport operations and within the existing terminal footprint. The construction programme will unfold in two phases, with the first—representing the core of the transformation—scheduled for completion by 2029.
A sustainable vision for regional development
Félix-Éboué Airport handles nearly 500,0001 passengers annually and is essential for connectivity in French Guiana. With infrastructure capable of supporting long-haul and international flights, it serves as the main gateway to the region providing vital air links to secondary airports2 in French Guiana, which are crucial for the economic and social development of a territory where road and rail infrastructure remains sparse.
The airport also accommodates large aircraft used for transporting satellites, making it a key logistics hub for the Guiana Space Centre — an important asset for European space policy and a driver of the local economy. Additionally, it plays a strategic role in regional security, supporting the operations of Air Base 367 “Capitaine François Massé,” the only NATO outpost in South America.
Egis and its partners are committed to ensuring the long-term sustainability of airport operations, in full transparency with all stakeholders. The goal is to obtain ISO 14001 and 50001 certifications, as well as ACA3 Level 4+ certification by 2030, reflecting Egis’ ambition to embed the airport in a sustainable future. The success of the project also relies on the full engagement and support of all airport personnel.
