Egis strengthens its UK Transport team with four key appointments

Andy Parker, UK Director of Intercity Transport at Egis

Andy began his career as an electronic and electrical engineer in the automotive industry, working for Jaguar Land Rover, before transitioning into project management. He has worked across client, Tier 1 and Tier 2 organisations, successfully delivering major multi-disciplinary projects and programmes in the rail sector for 19 years. Currently, Andy directs Egis’ transportation operations in the Southern Region, leading a team of around 50 programme and project management staff.

Andy said: “In my new role as the head of Egis’ Intercity service line, I will oversee all of our activities in rail and roads, which are vital for connecting towns and cities across the UK, increasing mobility and driving economic growth. This position presents an exciting opportunity to diversify Egis’ UK offering, leveraging capabilities from across the wider Egis Group and collaborating with our many strategic partners to successfully deliver sustainable solutions for our clients. I am particularly enthusiastic about furthering the strong growth of our transportation team in the UK and providing our highly skilled staff with new opportunities, while fostering a culture of innovation and shared expertise across our global network.”

James Hill, UK Director of Urban Transport at Egis

James has worked in the transport sector for over 15 years, leading a portfolio of multimillion-pound design and build projects for major transport authorities and third-party clients across the UK. His journey in this field began at UCL, where he excelled in the Network Rail Masters Scheme which paved the way for his roles at Network Rail and subsequently at Egis, where he has been a pivotal member since 2015. James is renowned for his ability to steer critical national infrastructure projects to successful completion, delivering major programmes on time and to budget by implementing innovative approaches to stakeholder and risk management and project delivery.

James said: “I am delighted to be leading our urban transport business in the UK which includes everything from tramways, metros and systems. Urban transport plays a crucial role in our journey towards net zero and in boosting both social and economic mobility across the UK, especially in the North. This is something I am particularly passionate about, being from Sheffield myself! I am looking forward to working with our outstanding team of specialists who have a solid track record in delivering urban transit projects that create lasting social and economic value both in the UK and globally.”

Chris Davies, UK Transport Structures Director at Egis

Chris Davies is a civil and structural engineer with 18 years’ industry experience. His key focus is fostering relationships, developing people and problem-solving. Chris has been instrumental in the delivery of multidisciplinary projects such as the Clacton Depot, Cork Area Commuter Rail design and procurement and Rugby Parkway.

Chris said: "I’m excited to be in charge of creating the UK strategy for the Structures service line at Egis, opening opportunities for our transportation team while forging stronger connections with our wider Group, local UK partners and supply chains. As the industry evolves, we're witnessing the emergence of the regenerative engineer, focusing on design for place, circularity and material choice and knowledge transfer. My aim is to champion these attributes as part of my new role, prioritising our team's development and maintaining focus on technical excellence."

Rob Wade, UK Transportation Commercial Director

Rob brings over 19 years of experience as an MRICS Assessor, Chartered QS, and NEC4 Accredited Project Manager to his new role as the UK Transportation Commercial Director. Over the past decade he has focused on pivotal rail and transportation projects such as the Temple Mill Depot upgrade and the Great Eastern Overhead Line Electrification upgrade, showcasing his commitment to the sector's growth. In his new capacity, Rob's role will be integral in shaping Egis’ strategic direction in the UK's transportation sector, steering its financial health and influencing broader organisational objectives.

Rob said: “I’m delighted to be part of the team that is helping shape Egis’ strategic direction in the UK transportation sector. We recognise a shift in the industry towards greater reliance on the supply chain in delivering client objectives.
