Omnia Projects, part of the Egis Group, has been appointed to Northern Powergrid’s Professional Services Framework following a competitive procurement process.
Northern Powergrid is the electricity distribution network operator for the North East of England, Yorkshire and Humberside, serving around 3.9 million customers across a 25,000 km² region.
The Professional Services Framework is a multi-year agreement through which Northern Powergrid may appoint suppliers to deliver specialist engineering and technical services as required. Omnia Projects has been awarded a place on three lots:
- Electricity Network Project Engineer & Ancillary Services
- Protection Applications Design Engineer Services
- Protection Commissioning Engineer Services
The framework runs for an initial five-year term with options for extension, covering both the RIIO-ED2 and RIIO-ED3 regulatory periods.
Appointment to the framework allows Northern Powergrid to call off services from successful suppliers in line with its procurement arrangements.
