As part of the social activities planned by the Control Center (CCO), our team visited the Centro de Asistencia Social Infantil Ecatepense Casa Hogar, a children's home in the municipality of Ecatepec, to give a talk on road safety and safe driving to the girls and boys who live there.
The initiative starts from a simple idea: road safety is learned at an early age, and those of us who work on the highway every day can share our experience with the community.
Learning to get around safely
During the activity, the children learned the importance of obeying traffic signs, crossing streets safely, wearing a seat belt and staying alert to their surroundings on the road to prevent accidents.
These are habits that are part of everyday life for anyone, whether as a pedestrian or a passenger, and they are worth even more when acquired at a young age.
Getting to know the people who look after the highway
The talk also explained the role of road assistance staff and how they support users during emergencies or incidents on the highway.
For those who travel a highway, road assistance is often a service that appears only when needed. Showing what these teams do helps children understand who they are, what they do and why their work matters for everyone's safety.
A participatory session
Through practical examples and participatory activities, the children showed great interest in learning the basic safety measures they can apply in their daily lives.
The session helped strengthen awareness of risk prevention and encourage responsible habits that contribute to safer mobility.
A commitment that goes beyond the highway
This visit reaffirms our commitment to bringing road safety education to the children's community, promoting values of responsibility, respect and care for one's own safety and that of others.
Road safety is also built away from the highway: through activities that take the knowledge of our operations teams to those who, in a few years, will be drivers, passengers and road users.
