At the outset of the New National Stadium of Serbia project, the client faced several significant challenges and concerns. One primary issue was the need to complete the project within a tight timeframe to ensure readiness for the upcoming Expo 2027, a major international event. Additionally, the project required coordination among multiple stakeholders, including local government, environmental groups, and the community, to ensure that the stadium met diverse needs and expectations. The historical context of Belgrade, with its rich cultural heritage and evolving urban landscape, added another layer of complexity, necessitating a design that would respect the city's past while propelling it into the future. Furthermore, the client's commitment to sustainability and ecological responsibility demanded specialist expertise to integrate green technologies and eco-friendly materials into the design. Fenwick Iribarren Architects, with their proven track record in sustainable architecture, were ideally positioned to address these concerns and deliver a landmark project that would serve as a model for future developments.
