We know we need to grow differently. Global threats like climate change and the pandemic have put a sharp focus on our need to work together and adapt to protect communities and our natural habitat. We work hand-in-hand with our clients, across every aspect of transport and the built environment, providing concrete solutions to society’s greatest challenges.
People-first.
Our UK experts are a team of strategists, economists, environmentalists and engineers. They work alongside architects, technical experts, digital wizards, bright analysts, mobility experts and programme managers. Many are industry thought-leaders, with proven track records helping clients improve the resilience and efficiency of their infrastructure.
Multidisciplinary.
With deep technical knowledge and services that span the entire lifecycle – from consultancy through to design, implementation and operation – we help you reimagine how buildings and cities, infrastructure and utilities, mobility and transport are designed and engineered. Whether helping redesign airspace at Heathrow Airport, operating the M25 and M40 motorways or digitally transforming rail infrastructure – we form long-term partnerships with our clients, tailoring our services to their unique needs.
We’ve also invested in leading UK firms like architects 10 Design, specialist nuclear consultants Galson Sciences, and building design engineers Inhabit, to broaden our client offering and on-the-ground presence.
Sustainable growth.
In the UK we are working with industry regulators, transport authorities, city planners and innovators to realise the UK’s vision for a ‘green industrial revolution’. In Somerset our experts are helping to deliver Hinkley Point C, one of the world’s most complex nuclear power plants, to provide safe and zero-carbon power to 5 million households in 2025. Since 2016 we’ve been part of the award-winning Midland Metro Alliance, which is introducing electric trams into the city of Birmingham to ease congestion, reduce air pollution and carbon.
In Manchester, we are creating a clean air zone that will improve the health of over half a million people by reducing harmful pollution. The goal of every project we deliver is climate responsible growth that meets the needs of citizens, service providers and the planet.
Future-focused.
We’re setting our best minds to solving the complex challenges associated with future infrastructure and decarbonisation. For the UK Future Flight Challenge, which is creating new and greener modes of air travel and capability, we’ve developed the first safety framework. And for the UK’s innovation accelerator for cities, transport, and places we’ve created a roadmap for using Digital Twins in a future aviation system. We're also implementing Digital Twin solutions to improve long-term asset management of the M25 motorway.
Back on the ground, our award-winning work with open Building Information Modelling (BIM) has helped Hinkley Point C to foster coordination between all contributors and guarantee digital continuity of data from 3D design to finished construction. Across the board, digital innovations are driving environmental best practice, and combined with world-class engineering expertise, are helping our clients meet their future ambitions.
