In water & environment, Egis has been instrumental in delivering water and wastewater infrastructure programmes that cover entire counties — Cluj, Satu Mare, Alba, Ilfov, and many others (such as the 30-Year Water Infrastructure Master Plan for Alba County). These projects span hundreds of kilometres of pipelines and multiple treatment facilities, bringing essential services to both urban centres and smaller communities, and directly improving quality of life across large parts of the country. We have also worked in coastal and riverine environments, from large-scale coastal protection works along some 30 km of the Black Sea shoreline to complex interventions on the Danube to improve navigation and environmental conditions.
In Romania’s cities, Egis has worked on urban mobility, energy, and regeneration projects, from Oradea to Bucharest, shaping public spaces, transport systems, and critical utilities such as the capital’s district heating network—one of the largest in the world. Even the invisible infrastructure in the sky has been an important part of our story, with Egis helping Romania to modernize and optimize the airspace above us.
Our projects connect regions, cities, and communities; they bridge rivers and mountains; they bring water, mobility, and energy where they are needed most, and taken together, they tell the story of a company that has helped shape the infrastructure backbone of modern Romania.
